Instructors: Kate Harding and Sue Sample

Criteria: Puppies should be around 3-7 mos old at the start of the session and able to stay in a crate (or the car) when not working. You will need a flat collar, a 6-foot leash w/o a loop handle (get a cheap nylon one!), treats, a toy, and a hungry puppy. A clicker will be useful.

Content: We will use a variety of games to teach foundational skills while building engagement between puppy and handler. The puppies will learn to go around things, walk on weird surfaces, and find heel position; they will develop a sit, down and maybe a stand; they’ll play some nose games, work towards a solid recall, and just generally have a good time. Puppies will alternate between working and resting in their crates (or car), with 1-2 puppies out on the floor at a time. We will not be doing any formal exercises in this class.

Limit: 6. (One puppy per handler)
